Democratic Memory Days held in Alcoià and Comtat

The fifth edition of the Democratic Memory Days is taking place across the Alcoià and Comtat regions during September and October. The event features a program of conferences, literature, theater, cinema, exhibitions, and music held in the municipalities of Alcoi, Cocentaina, Muro, Benilloba, and Ibi.

The program aims to explore contemporary history, specifically the “lights and shadows” of the Spanish political Transition following the death of Franco in 1975. Key scheduled events include a conference by former magistrate Baltasar Garzón on October 1st regarding threats to democracy and human rights, as well as various presentations and documentaries focusing on the dictatorship and the censorship of victims in the Valencian Country.
