Democratic Party Cosenza grapples with internal stalemate, urges new secretariat

The provincial assembly of the Democratic Party in Cosenza, representing 55% of delegates, has accused the party leadership of immobilism and called for an immediate establishment of a representative secretariat or a new selection process.

The De Luca coordination committee echoed the concern, noting the absence of concrete proposals twenty days after the assembly meeting and warning that continued delay could trigger a commissioner appointment, which they deem undesirable with regional elections approaching.

Both documents cite the national organization’s appeal, via Igor Taruffi, to broaden the majority that supported Francesco De Luca’s candidacy and stress the need for transparency, loyalty and an end to tactical “tricks” in forming a plural leadership body ahead of the upcoming municipal elections in Cosenza.
