Democratic Party expands to four seats in Assoro municipal council

The Democratic Party (Partito Democratico) now holds four seats on the municipal council of Assoro, Italy. The councilors are Concetta Muratore, Maurizio Giunta, Dario Calandra and Angelo La Porta. Giunta, who entered two months ago as the first of the non‑elected following a surrogation, was the latest addition, followed by La Porta, a former member of the Christian Democracy party.

The increase strengthens the party’s presence in the council and bolsters the governing majority led by Mayor Antonio Licciardo. Party officials highlighted the role of regional deputy Fabio Venezia in supporting the local agenda. A press conference is planned to outline the new councilors’ programmatic priorities.
