Democratic Party launches Metagora initiative in Western Greece

The Democratic Party – Progressive Center, led by Stefanos Kasselakis, is launching its Metagora initiative starting in Western Greece. The regional conference is scheduled to take place in Patras on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the ESIEPEN Journalists' Hall.

The initiative aims to bring local issues and citizen proposals to the national political stage to help shape a regional reconstruction and development plan. Key agenda items include labor relations, renewable energy, agricultural development, healthcare staffing in regional hospitals, and infrastructure projects such as the reactivation of the Diakopto-Kalavryta rack railway and port connections.

Following the Patras event, the Metagora tour will move to Athens. On October 23, the party will meet with European Democrats, followed by the 1st Annual Democratic Party Congress on October 24 and 25, where local proposals will be integrated into a broader political dialogue.
