Democratic Party leaders apologize for controversial remarks on firefighting
Democratic Party leaders Kim Min-seok and Han Byeong-do have issued apologies following a series of controversial remarks regarding firefighting finances and resources made by party members. The controversy follows statements made by Gyeonggi Province Governor Choo Mi-ae and lawmaker Boo Seung-chan.
Kim Min-seok called for more cautious speech and behavior, while Han Byeong-do expressed responsibility for failing to meet public expectations. Lawmaker Boo Seung-chan also apologized amid an investigation by the party's ethics inspection team.
