Democratic Party of Kosovo mobilizes for September 12 march

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) is mobilizing its structures to participate in the ‘March for Freedom’ scheduled for September 12 in Prishtina. The march, organized by the ‘Liria ka Emër’ platform, aims to show support for former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi. The PDK views the event as a matter of national importance and is calling for the acquittal of these leaders, with expectations tied to a decision expected on September 16.

Separately, the PDK has announced plans to appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the appointment of members to the Central Election Commission (KQZ). Party leader Bedri Hamza stated that acting President Albulena Haxhiu failed to decree a second PDK member to the commission, a move the party claims violates the constitution.

Additionally, the PDK has formally requested that Avni Dehari, as the presiding official for the constitutive session, convene the Assembly on September 1 at 11:00 to avoid further constitutional violations regarding the assembly's formation.
