Democratic Peaceful Unification Advisory Council holds regional meetings

Local councils of the Democratic Peaceful Unification Advisory Council in Buan-gun and Ongjin-gun held their third-quarter regular meetings to discuss regional strategies for peaceful unification and coexistence on the Korean Peninsula.

The Buan-gun Council held a ceremony to appoint new members for its 22nd term. Members discussed community-based practical tasks for peaceful coexistence and reviewed major business plans for the second half of 2026, focusing on strengthening the foundation for unification through resident participation.

The Ongjin-gun Council, located in a sensitive border region near the West Sea, focused on restoring daily peace for local residents. The council discussed the role of civil society in improving inter-Korean relations and launched a campaign to collect public opinions on unification through a widespread interview initiative.
