Democratic Peaceful Unification Advisory Council holds regional meetings
Regional chapters of the Democratic Peaceful Unification Advisory Council held quarterly meetings in Dangjin and Anyang to discuss peace and unification strategies for the Korean Peninsula.
In Dangjin, the council launched the Pyeonghwa Nuri Volunteer Group and discussed the ‘1 million citizens interview’ project, which aims to collect public opinions on unification to suggest to the government. Members focused on finding alternatives to the current deadlock in inter-Korean relations.
In Anyang, the council hosted a special lecture by Secretary-General Bang Yong-seung regarding the role of the council in achieving peaceful coexistence. Bang emphasized the importance of building an inclusive peace culture that recognizes differences and moving toward a stage of institutionalized coexistence. He also commended the Anyang chapter for its high performance in the national citizen interview project.
