Democratic Progressive Party celebrates 40th anniversary with commemorative concert

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) held a commemorative concert titled ‘Inheritance 40: Democratic Resonance’ to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The event featured various political figures, including President Lai Ching-te, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim, and Premier Chao Rong-tai.

In his address, Lai Ching-te honored the party's founders for their courage in breaking martial law and press censorship to establish democracy. He emphasized that the current generation must protect Taiwan's sovereignty and maintain democratic values with strong will. Lai also highlighted the party's responsibility to cultivate talent, noting that several upcoming election candidates, including some not originally from the DPP, have been nominated to serve the nation.

The concert utilized AI technology to recreate the words of democratic pioneers and included performances by various artists and local government candidates. The program aimed to connect democratic memory with themes of gender equality and cultural integration, concluding with a collective performance of ‘Gods Protect Taiwan’ to symbolize unity and the commitment to defending Taiwan's future.
