Democratic Republic of Congo adopts national land plan and advances Kinshasa stock‑exchange legislation
On 12 June 2026 the cabinet of the Democratic Republic of Congo, chaired by President Félix Tshisekedi, approved the National Land Plan for 2026‑2040. The plan, driven by Minister of Land Affairs Mada O'Neige N'Sele, aims to replace fragmented land‑governance practices with an integrated framework that strengthens legal security, social peace, economic attractiveness and sustainable development across the country.
A day earlier, Finance Minister Doudou Fwamba presented a draft law to the Senate to revamp the nation’s financial markets. The proposal calls for the creation of a Kinshasa securities exchange and a dedicated regulatory authority, with the goal of diversifying financing sources, enhancing market transparency and attracting investment to Congolese enterprises.
