Democratic Republic of Congo posts modest budget surplus of 36.1 billion CDF

The Democratic Republic of Congo reported a small fiscal surplus of 36.1 billion Congolese francs (about 15 million USD) for the period ending 11 June 2026, according to data from the Central Bank of Congo. Revenue collections since the start of the year reached 17.863 billion CDF, while expenditures were 17.827 billion CDF, indicating that receipts slightly exceeded outlays.

The surplus reflects continued internal revenue mobilisation, mainly through financial agencies, amid ongoing demands for public spending on security, infrastructure, health, and education. Authorities note the need to sustain this balance as fiscal pressures grow in the second half of the year.
