Democratic Republic of the Congo launches second World Music and Tourism Festival
The Democratic Republic of the Congo has launched the second edition of the World Music and Tourism Festival (FMMT), held in Kinshasa from October 8 to 10, 2026. The event is organized in collaboration with UN Tourism and aims to use culture and music as tools for economic diversification and international attractiveness.
During the launch, Vice-Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Lihau emphasized that the festival serves as a bridge between peoples, highlighting the nation's diverse heritage, languages, and traditions. Tourism Minister Didier Manzenga called on artists and media professionals to act as ambassadors for Congolese identity. The initiative aligns with President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo’s vision to promote tourism as a means of national heritage valuation and human development.
