Democratic Socialists of America Membership Surpasses 125,000

A recent gathering of young Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) members in a suburban industrial park drew about 25 participants in person and a dozen more via Zoom. Attendees, predominantly in their 20s and 30s, discussed the organization’s new national platform, “Workers Deserve More,” and highlighted DSA’s growth to over 125,000 members, making it the largest socialist organization in U.S. history.

A CNBC poll cited by observers shows increasing openness among voters—especially younger ones—to candidates identifying as democratic socialists, outpacing support for candidates aligned with former President Trump. The meeting underscored a shift in political sentiment among young Americans, driven by concerns such as housing costs, student debt, and declining trust in established institutions.
