Democratic Union demands investigation into Iva Mihajlova’s flight

The Democratic Union is calling for an urgent investigation into the flight of Iva Mihajlova, who is accused of involvement in a fatal traffic accident. The political group is demanding that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Customs Administration, and the Public Prosecutor's Office determine how Mihajlova was able to leave the country despite travel restrictions and the seizure of her Bulgarian and Macedonian passports.

Concerns have been raised regarding whether the flight was intended to avoid an independent medical assessment by Bulgarian doctors, which could have clarified whether her health condition was truly life-threatening. The Democratic Union also insists on investigating the role of her lawyer to determine if any legal professionals assisted in organizing or facilitating the escape, emphasizing that the legal profession must not serve as a shield for illegal actions.
