Democrazia Cristiana 80th anniversary marked by exhibition

To mark the 80th anniversary of the Democrazia Cristiana (DC), the Università Cattolica is hosting a traveling photographic exhibition titled ‘DC storia di un Paese’. The exhibition focuses on the fifty years of the party's existence between 1942 and 1994.

The event aims to provide a historical recovery of the party, which served as a central pillar of the Italian Republic and the ‘First Republic’. The exhibition is being held at the university's Via Nirone headquarters in Milan, which historically served as the party's seat. The initiative highlights the deep historical ties between the university and the DC, noting how figures such as Alcide De Gasperi sought support from Father Agostino Gemelli and Pope Pius XII to establish the party.
