Democrazia Cristiana and Lega Launch Unified Sicilian List

The Christian Democracy (Democrazia Cristiana) party and the Lega have agreed to create a single electoral list for Sicily. The alliance was presented by regional deputy Carlo Auteri after a meeting in Caltanissetta that gathered party leaders, parliamentarians and local coordinators. Auteri said the partnership, already discussed during the Festa dell’Amicizia last year, seeks to give Sicily a stronger voice in upcoming regional and national elections.

The joint list will be identified by a shared symbol and is supported by Lega’s federal vice‑secretary Luca Sammartino as well as by the Lega’s regional group leader Carmelo Pace. Organisers argue the coalition will combine local rootedness with national representation, allowing Sicilian concerns to be conveyed more effectively to Rome and to enhance the political weight of the island in the Mezzogiorno.

The initiative is framed as a response to the need for concrete policies and direct answers to citizens, aiming to build a more competitive force capable of influencing both regional and national political dynamics.
