Democritus University of Thrace welcomes new forestry students in Orestiada

The Department of Forestry, Environmental Management and Natural Resources at the Democritus University of Thrace is hosting a three-day orientation program for incoming first-year students in Orestiada for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The program begins on September 28, 2026, with a guided tour of Orestiada to familiarize students with the city. On September 29, students will tour the university facilities to learn about the infrastructure and services available for their studies.

The event concludes on September 30, 2026, with a central reception ceremony at the ‘Konstantinos Sideris’ Amphitheater. During this event, university and local government representatives will address the students regarding their curriculum, professional prospects, and international research collaborations. As a symbolic gesture, the new students will conclude the three-day program by planting a stone pine (Pinus pinea).
