Demons of Asteborg to launch physical Mega Drive cartridge in Brazil

Brazilian publisher Versão Ltda announced that the indie retro title Demons of Asteborg will be released in physical cartridge form for the Mega Drive, Sega Genesis and compatible 16‑bit consoles. The pre‑sale begins on 8 August 2026 via the publisher’s official website and will include several editions, among them a collector’s version with extra items and special packaging.

The game was developed by the French studio Neofid and features a 128‑Megabit ROM—one of the largest capacities ever used on a Mega Drive cartridge. It is a Metroidvania‑style action‑platformer starring the warrior Gareth, who must defeat the demon lord Zadimus and his forces across varied biomes such as forests, mountains and swamps. The expanded memory allows for more detailed graphics, smoother animation and a richer soundtrack, aiming to appeal to fans of classic 16‑bit titles.
