Demonstrations held in Magdeburg and Leipzig
In Magdeburg, approximately 700 people gathered at the Domplatz on October 10, 2026, for a demonstration organized by groups including ‘Solidarisches Magdeburg’ and ‘Omas gegen Rechts’. The protesters called for the Federal Constitutional Court to review all political parties classified by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as having suspected or confirmed right-wing extremist affiliations.
In Leipzig, the fourth ‘WALK FOR FREEDOM’ took place on October 17, 2026. Participants held a 60-minute silent march through the city center to protest human trafficking, forced prostitution, and sexual exploitation. The march, organized by the Leipzig local group of SISTERS e. V., featured participants dressed in black with black umbrellas and a banner advocating for the dignity of women and girls.
