Dengue outbreaks reported in Naga City and Delhi

Dengue fever cases are rising significantly in parts of Asia. Naga City has declared a state of calamity following 200 reported cases, which include six fatalities. The outbreak has placed local hospitals at full capacity, prompting intensified cleanup and search-and-destroy operations to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.

In Delhi, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) reported 121 new dengue cases in September, bringing the yearly total to 432. This represents a notable increase, with September seeing the highest monthly count for 2026. Alongside dengue, malaria infections have also surged, with 183 cases documented this year. The MCD has conducted inspections of over 2.79 crore households, identifying active mosquito larvae in approximately 1.47 lakh homes.
