Denilson, senior shelter dog, finds permanent home after 12 years

Denilson, a 12-year-old mixed-breed dog rescued from a landfill in São Paulo, has finally been adopted after spending years in a shelter. As the oldest resident of his facility, he often watched younger animals find homes while he remained waiting.

His adoption was facilitated by the Brazilian pet welfare app Hyppet through its ‘Paixões Nacionais’ campaign. The initiative aimed to increase visibility for senior animals by connecting them with potential owners. Denilson was adopted by Jeniffer Sthephani, marking the end of his long wait for a permanent home.
