Denis Bouanga sets LAFC regular-season scoring record
Denis Bouanga has become the all-time leader in MLS regular-season goals for LAFC. During a 2-2 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes, Bouanga scored in the 53rd minute to reach 79 career regular-season goals for the club.
With this goal, the Gabonese striker surpassed the previous record of 78 goals held by Carlos Vela, who achieved his tally in 152 appearances. Bouanga reached the milestone in 127 regular-season matches.
In the same match, Son Heung-min contributed both a goal and an assist for LAFC. The contest saw significant action, including a red card for Aaron Long in the 36th minute, leaving LAFC to play with a man disadvantage for much of the game.
