Denise Cosco death investigation: second phone seized in Ariccia

Authorities in Italy have launched an investigation into the death of Denise Cosco, the 35-year-old daughter of high-profile justice witness Lea Garofalo. Cosco died in a Rome hospital after falling from a third-floor window of her apartment in Ariccia on September 6. While the fall is being treated as a potential suicide, the Velletri Prosecutor's Office is investigating the possibility of incitement to suicide.

During a search of the residence, investigators seized a second mobile phone that was not recovered during the initial emergency response. Forensic experts will analyze the device to reconstruct Cosco's communications and movements in the hours leading up to the incident. The investigation is currently being conducted against unknown persons.

Investigators also plan to interview Cosco's partner, who was the only person present in the home at the time of the fall. The case has drawn significant attention due to Cosco's family history; her mother, Lea Garofalo, was a prominent collaborator with the state who was murdered by the 'ndrangheta in 2009. Denise had previously testified against her father, Carlo Cosco, in the trial regarding her mother's murder.
