Denise Pipitone: Mother issues new appeal 22 years after disappearance
Twenty-two years after the disappearance of Denise Pipitone, her mother, Piera Maggio, has issued a new public appeal. Denise vanished on September 1, 2004, in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, when she was nearly four years old.
In a social media message shared with her husband, Pietro Pulizzi, Maggio expressed continued hope and a refusal to stop searching for the truth. She requested that the public share an age-progression image of Denise to assist in identifying what she would look like today at age 20.
Maggio also expressed deep frustration with the state, stating she feels “left alone” by authorities. She described the unresolved case as “one of the Italian disgraces” and criticized the lack of progress in investigations, asserting that the truth remains hidden within official files.
