Denizen Theatre's Summer Shorts Film Fest Returns in New Paltz
The fourth annual Summer Shorts Film Fest will take place at the Denizen Theatre in New Paltz, New York, from August 7 to August 9. The three‑day event will showcase roughly 40‑50 short films across six thematic programs, including blocks dedicated to fathers, locals, teachers, grief, and work. Lead programmer Warren Etheredge selected the lineup after reviewing more than 2,500 submissions from the United States and abroad, offering a nine‑hour total screening schedule.
Tickets are priced at $10 for individual screenings, with student tickets available for $5. Festival passes cost $50 and grant priority access and perks such as a happy‑hour discount on drinks and offers at nearby Water Street Market shops. The program features a mix of animation, documentary, narrative and experimental works, with notable selections such as Allegra Venturi’s "Sick Enough" and Anurima Bhargava’s "Teaching America".
