Denizli agricultural lands declared 3rd Degree Archaeological Site

The Aydın Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board has designated agricultural lands in the Gürpınar neighborhood of Denizli’s Çivril district as a 3rd Degree Archaeological Site. This decision follows surface inspections that identified ancient ceramic and brick remains.

The newly protected parcels are considered an extension of the existing Hendek and Kureyşyolu Necropolis Area. As a result of the official decision published in the Official Gazette, archaeological annotations will be recorded on the title deeds of the affected properties. Additionally, any future projects by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) in the area will now require approval from the board.
