Kozan driver flees after hitting 83-year-old pedestrian
An 83-year-old man, Yaşar Akdoğan, was injured in a hit-and-run accident in the Kozan district of Adana, Turkey. The incident occurred on Friday morning on Hal Sokak in the Tufanpaşa neighborhood.
Security camera footage captured the moment a car struck Akdoğan while he was walking on the road, causing him to lose his balance and fall. The driver failed to stop and fled the scene immediately after the collision. Local shopkeepers provided initial assistance to the victim with basic first aid before he traveled home via public transport.
Akdoğan later sought medical attention due to increasing pain and was diagnosed with a broken leg. He expressed distress not only over his injury but also over the driver's lack of concern and failure to check on his well-being. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are reviewing the security footage to identify the driver.
