Denizli family alleges medical negligence after mother and baby die

A family in Denizli, Turkey, has launched a legal battle following the deaths of Gamze Doğan and her newborn baby, alleging a chain of medical negligence at a private hospital in the Pamukkale district.

According to the family, the mother entered the hospital in good health for a planned cesarean section. Following the procedure, doctors provided conflicting information; while the obstetrician reported the mother was fine but the baby had respiratory issues, a pediatrician stated the baby was born lifeless and discolored.

After the birth, the mother experienced severe pain and heavy bleeding. The family claims that hospital staff initially only provided intravenous fluids and medication. As her condition deteriorated and discoloration appeared on her extremities, hospital officials reportedly stated their facilities were inadequate and transferred her to Pamukkale University Hospital, where she subsequently passed away.
