Denizli Metropolitan Municipality begins restoration of Tavas Taş Hanı

The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality has initiated efforts to restore the historic Tavas Taş Hanı, also known as Mestanağa Hanı, located in the Tavas district of Denizli. The project aims to preserve the structure, which is noted for its fine stonework, and transform it into a tourism asset.

While the municipality requested contribution funds from the Denizli Governor's Office Investment Monitoring and Coordination Presidency (YİKOB) for the expropriation of the building, the request was reportedly rejected twice. However, officials stated that a reconciliation process is ongoing. Once the process is complete, the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality intends to cover all restoration costs from its own budget to revitalize the site and support the region's cultural heritage.
