Denizli residents launch neighborhood cleaning campaign

Volunteers in Denizli organized a comprehensive cleaning and environmental arrangement campaign in the Yenişehir neighborhood. The initiative, part of the ‘Age-Friendly City: Denizli’ vision, was led by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Elderly Assembly and the Denizli Third Age Association.

Participants included local residents, youth, and community leaders such as City Council President Ali Marım and Environmental Protection and Control Department Head Umut Somyürek. The group worked together to clean streets, parks, and common areas to improve livability and strengthen intergenerational bonds.

The event highlighted the ‘Neighborhood Volunteers’ project, which was unanimously accepted by the municipal council. This project encourages residents to report maintenance and cleaning needs for public spaces to the municipality, thereby accelerating local government services.
