Denizli Volunteer Rescue Team Receives National AFAD Accreditation

The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality’s volunteer search‑and‑rescue unit (DEBAK) completed a seven‑month training program and passed the rigorous AFAD accreditation exam. The team, composed of municipal staff volunteers, is now authorized to join AFAD‑coordinated operations in any disaster across Turkey, including earthquakes, floods and landslides.

Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu highlighted the achievement as a major boost to the city’s and the nation’s emergency‑response capacity, noting that the volunteers demonstrated professional planning, logistics and technical rescue skills during the assessment exercises.
