Denizlispor board resigns to facilitate debt resolution
The board of directors of the Turkish football club Denizlispor has announced its resignation to facilitate the entry of new entities promising to resolve the club's financial and structural issues. The resignation letters were submitted to the Governor of Denizli, Yavuz Selim Köşger, and the Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu.
The management cited a heavy debt burden of approximately 700 million TL, ongoing transfer bans, and the challenges of operating outside of professional leagues as primary obstacles. The board stated that their decision follows public claims that financial resources have been secured to pay off debts and lift transfer restrictions. They emphasized that their priority is the club's future rather than their own positions, calling for these promises to be materialized into concrete actions.
