Deník features newborn photo galleries from Vysočina, Plzeň and Liberec regions
The Czech daily newspaper Deník has published weekly photo galleries of newborn babies from three regions – Vysočina, the Plzeň Region and the Liberec Region. Parents submit photographs of their infants together with a signed consent form, after which the images appear on the paper’s website and in the printed edition.
Readers are invited to view the pictures online and participate in a weekly poll, "Vote in the ‘Most Sympathetic Baby’ contest". The baby receiving the highest number of votes each month advances to a national final that crowns the "Baby of the Month" for the Czech Republic.
The initiative highlights how digital technology and social media enable families and distant relatives to see the newborns promptly, while also encouraging community engagement through the voting competition.
