Denmark announces 2027 state pension increases

The Danish Ministry of Finance has announced a regulatory increase for the state pension for the year 2027. The adjustment is set at 2.6 percent, with an additional 0.3 percentage points due to the discontinuation of previous fund allocations.

For single pensioners eligible for the full pension supplement, this adjustment could result in an annual pre-tax income of up to 200,940 DKK, which equates to approximately 16,745 DKK per month. Additionally, eligible recipients may receive an elderly check of up to 26,900 DKK in 2027.

Mads Moberg Reumert, a senior economist at Danica Pension, noted that the state pension has grown by over 32,000 DKK over a five-year period, representing an increase of nearly 20 percent. This growth is intended to assist pensioners facing rising prices, though the adjustment system operates with a two-year delay based on private sector wage developments.
