Denmark arrests three men in large opioid and hash smuggling case

Three men – aged 23, 32 and 45 – were taken into custody and placed in pre‑trial detention until July 30 after being charged with offenses related to the trafficking of opioids and hash. The arrests were made in separate locations across Zealand and presented before the court in Næstved.

The suspects are linked to an ongoing investigation that has already resulted in four other arrests. Police seized a van in early June containing about 200 kg of hash and roughly 470 000 prescription‑type pills, of which more than 400 000 tested positive for opioids. The case is being prosecuted by Mia Christiansen of the South Zealand and Lolland‑Falster Police.

The three newly detained individuals are accused of violating Danish narcotics laws, with two charged concerning opioids and one concerning hash. Their detention follows a broader crackdown on a large‑scale drug smuggling network.
