Denmark road network disruptions: E45 works, accidents and closures
The Danish Road Directorate began laying the final asphalt layer on the E45 stretch between Tilst and Aarhus North on 8 June, with work scheduled through 20 July 2026. Traffic is redirected to the opposite carriageway, speed is limited to 80 km/h and several on‑ and off‑ramps are temporarily closed.
A separate incident on the same motorway saw a vehicle crash block one lane near the Aarhus South junction, reducing speeds and prompting a tow‑truck response.
On the Esbjergmotorvejen, a disabled vehicle halted the right‑hand lane between Korskro and Bramming, causing a traffic queue.
Further north, a serious collision on Bygholmvej between Thisted and Fjerritslev involved a bus and a car, drawing emergency services and a medical helicopter; details on injuries were not released.
