Denmark focuses on historical and cultural site preservation
Denmark is seeing renewed interest in local historical and cultural sites. Oplevelsescenter Nyvang, located near Holbæk, serves as a center for Danish history spanning from 1930 to 1959. The site covers approximately 42 hectares and features over 30 historical buildings. Formerly known as Andelslandsbyen Nyvang, the center focuses on the cooperative era that shaped modern Denmark.
In Tornby Klitplantage, efforts are underway to revive Yxengaard after more than two years of inactivity. Led by Claus Gajhede in collaboration with the Viking combat group Noorulf, the initiative aims to bring back activities centered on historical combat, ancient crafts, outdoor life, and cultural experiences. The project seeks volunteers to assist with practical work and community building, with initial group activity days scheduled for October and November.
