Denmark handball squad named for EHF Euro Cup Final4

Denmark's national handball coach Helle Thomsen has announced a 17-player squad for the EHF Euro Cup Final4 in Romania, scheduled for late September. A major highlight of the selection is the return of veteran goalkeeper Sandra Toft, who is making her comeback following pregnancy and maternity leave. Toft, currently playing for Györ, will compete for the goalkeeper position alongside Anna Kristensen.

To manage player workload during a busy period involving league starts and Champions League commitments, Thomsen is also utilizing additional training players. Julie Persson from HØJ and Emilie Ytting from København Håndbold have been called in to support the squad during training sessions. Other players, including Maria Lykkegaard, Laura Borg, and Anne Christine Bossen, will also participate in training preparations but will not travel to Romania for the tournament.

The EHF Euro Cup Final4 serves as a key preparation phase for the European Championship in December. Denmark is set to face host nation Romania in the semifinals on September 26.
