Denmark holiday traffic causes ferry delays and motorway congestion

The Express 1 ferry from Ystad to Rønne has been running up to an hour behind schedule, with the March 12 departure delayed by 60 minutes as a large outdoor concert near the Ystad harbor created road congestion and raised the risk of traffic jams in the port town.

On Denmark’s Vestmotorvejen between Slagelse and the Storebæltsbroen, holiday traffic on Saturday afternoon has resulted in dense, slow‑moving traffic, especially westbound toward Funen. No accidents have been reported, but the high volume of cars has reduced speeds and increased travel times.
