Denmark: Household energy solutions could relieve grid pressure

Integrated energy solutions in Danish households could provide essential relief for the country's pressured electrical grid. According to the employer organization Tekniq, connecting technologies such as household batteries, solar cells, heat pumps, and charging stations through intelligent management can help adapt electricity consumption to grid loads.

A survey of installation companies indicates rising interest, with 73 percent reporting increased demand for integrated energy solutions. Currently, 40 percent of these companies are actively working to link these technologies using smart controls.

Despite this progress, household batteries are not yet a standard feature in Denmark. Industry representatives note that clearer economic incentives and reduced bureaucracy are necessary to accelerate the transition from passive consumption to active participation in the energy system.
