Denmark manufacturing confidence rises amid retail sector decline
Denmark's manufacturing confidence index rose to 102.7 points in October, reaching its highest level since April 2025. This increase was driven by improving production expectations, which rose from 15 to 22.
Despite the boost in manufacturing, the general business confidence index fell from 107.1 in September to 104.5 in October. Significant declines were observed in the construction and service sectors. The retail sector experienced the most substantial drop, with its confidence index falling 11.1 points from 114.8 to 103.7 in a single month. While revenue expectations in retail remained relatively strong, employment expectations for the sector turned negative.
