Denmark marks new environmental and urban infrastructure milestones

In Denmark, two distinct local infrastructure and environmental projects are reaching significant milestones.

In Billund Municipality, a new fauna passage has been completed in Ansager Å and Nørrebæk at the former Krogager Fish Farm. This project, part of the EU Water Framework Directive and local water area plans, removes previous obstructions to restore natural water flow. The initiative allows fish species such as salmon and trout to access 45 kilometers of upstream habitat for spawning. An official public viewing of the new watercourse is scheduled for August 31, 2026.

In Aarhus, the Kulbroen project is entering its next phase with the opening of a new elevated promenade. The promenade is designed to better connect the city center with the Sydhavnen district and serve as a cultural hub. An opening ceremony and celebration are scheduled for August 27, featuring music and community events to mark the completion of this urban connectivity project.
