Denmark: Organizations call for mandatory e-bike helmet laws

Following the death of a 16-year-old in a rental e-bike accident in Risskov, several organizations are advocating for mandatory bicycle helmet laws for e-bikes.

Tænketanken Trafiksikkerhed and Hjerneskadeforeningen are both supporting legislation to make helmets compulsory. The Rådet for Sikker Trafik has suggested that a helmet mandate should be considered by politicians. Conversely, Cyklistforbundet opposes a legal requirement, expressing concerns that such a mandate could discourage people from cycling.
