Denmark PM warns of internal threats to European values

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has warned of an internal threat to Europe, specifically citing certain migrant populations as a risk to democratic stability. Speaking in the Folketing, Frederiksen stated that while Russia remains a primary external enemy, a major threat is growing from within, consisting of individuals with Islamic backgrounds who do not recognize fundamental European values or support an open, free society.

She specifically identified Hamas supporters and those who commit acts of terror against European societies as part of this internal challenge. The remarks were made during a parliamentary debate regarding the recent mass arrival of migrants in Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa. Frederiksen expressed strong disagreement with the Spanish government’s handling of illegal migration and emphasized that strict immigration policies are essential for maintaining social cohesion and individual safety in Denmark and across Europe.
