Denmark: Prime Minister warns citizens of cyber and hybrid threats
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has issued a warning to the public to prepare for various types of cyberattacks, hybrid attacks, and other crises that could impact society. This follows recent incidents involving leaked personal data and attacks on university websites and European supermarket cooling systems.
In a security report titled Nordic Digital Security 2026, Telenor highlighted increasing threats from sabotage and geopolitical tensions affecting critical infrastructure in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Telenor CEO Lars Thomsen emphasized that while companies are investing heavily in security, Nordic nations must improve cross-border coordination and resource sharing to strengthen collective preparedness.
Cybersecurity experts recommend that individuals adopt basic digital hygiene to mitigate risks, including using two-factor authentication, employing unique passwords for different services, and ensuring all devices are regularly updated to close security vulnerabilities.
