Denmark rail traffic disrupted by fallen high-voltage cable
Train traffic across Denmark has faced significant disruptions following an incident where a high-voltage cable from Energinet fell onto the railway near Holmstrup on Funen.
As a result, DSB has implemented several emergency measures, including the deployment of 40 replacement buses and the introduction of diesel trains between Fredericia and Odense to maintain service. The disruption has led to the cancellation of several InterCity and InterCityLyn services, particularly affecting routes between Copenhagen and Aarhus, as well as connections from Fredericia, Struer, and Skjern.
In a separate development regarding regional transit, the management of Region Midtjylland is seeking financial compensation from Aarhus Municipality following the introduction of cheaper 15-krone tickets for local buses and the Aarhus Letbane.
