Denmark reports rising noise complaints in Copenhagen and Skagen

Copenhagen Municipality has received 30 noise complaints since establishing a 'cultural free zone' under Langebro in August. The zone is a pilot project intended to run until the end of 2027, allowing for various events and concerts. Christopher Røhl, the Mayor for Culture, Leisure, and Citizen Services, stated that the municipality is not yet concluding that the pilot causes excessive complaints, noting that the feedback will be used for future urban development to balance cultural life with residential livability.

In Skagen, Frederikshavn Municipality has released data showing a significant increase in noise complaints. There were 35 complaints recorded between weeks 26 and 34, which more than doubles the 16 complaints received during the same period in 2025. The complaints primarily concern noise from music at various restaurants.
