Denmark roadworks and traffic closures disrupt commuters
The Danish Road Directorate began a major renovation of the bridge that carries Suså Landevej over Spragelsevej at Herlufmagle on 30 July 2026. Work will continue through November, leaving only a single lane open on each road and a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h. The bridge’s clearance on Spragelsevej is limited to 3.60 m, requiring high‑load vehicles to use alternate routes.
On the same day, the second stage of the PostNord Danmark Rundt cycling race passed through Skive, temporarily closing a number of streets from about 16:00 to 18:00. Closures are expected to last up to 45 minutes per road, with only emergency vehicles allowed to pass. Residents and businesses were notified in advance to plan detours.
Two days earlier, on 28 July 2026, a lane on the E45 motorway between Vejle S and Skærup was blocked after cargo fell from a vehicle, restricting the right‑hand lane. The incident was reported on the Road Directorate’s traffic map.
