Denmark showcases wartime artifacts at Odense museum and Tversted bunker tour
On 1 August 2026 the Fyns Military Historical Museum in Odense opened a special day allowing visitors to see a genuine Russian drone that was shot down by a Ukrainian soldier, along with a bullet‑proof vest made from ceramic plates recovered from a fallen Russian combatant. The items were donated by Jens Alstrup and will become part of a forthcoming exhibition on the Ukraine war, complementing the museum’s permanent displays of Denmark’s 400‑year military history.
Later that week, despite rain, guide Flemming Hammer led a small group of thirteen participants on a bunker tour in Tversted, West Jutland. The tour highlighted four German anti‑aircraft positions set up in summer 1943, describing the Oerlikon Flak 29 and Madsen M/38 guns, MG‑42 machine guns and their ammunition storage. Attendees gained a detailed look at the German fortifications that defended the north‑west coast during World War II.
