Denmark Speedway League announces major rule changes for 2027

The Danish speedway federation has announced significant regulatory changes for the SpeedwayLigaen, set to take effect in the 2027 season. The reforms include expanding team rosters to include an additional senior rider and creating dedicated spots for two junior riders, at least one of whom must be Danish.

Under the new rules, the league will transition from 14 to 15 heats per meeting. Additionally, the ‘guest’ system will return, allowing U21 riders with an average below 0.800 who are not in their own team's lineup to appear as guests for opponents. These changes follow intensive planning sessions conducted after the 2026 season to elevate the Danish league's standing among the world's elite.
